Once again welcome to the new Social Misfits website. Hope you like the
refreshingly new layout. Even though we could not fault the previous design we
felt compelled to make some drastic changes to give the site a more
refreshing new look. Please let us know what you think. Meanwhile this is the
place to get all the latest low-down on the Social Misfits, so without further a due...
The release of "The Self Titled
Album" by Shiesty da Gypsy is scheduled for July 2002. Prior to
that is the first single, "Jus Wanna Hav Fun" - a
feel-good party anthemn that is destined to be the soundtrack theme for
summer 2002. Look out for the fantastic video-promo courtesy of
Ballistic Productions. Full details shall be posted here very
soon.
Meanwhile we are proud to
announce that both Shiesty Da Gypsy and Da-Essence are featured on an
upcoming Budweiser beer compilation promotion. The beer brand in
association with EMI Records and Peoplesound have an exciting and
innovative summer promotional campaign that will feature two tracks
licensed Social Misfit Entertainment - Shiesty's classic, "Lives
& Times" and a track from the current Social Misfits
album, "Party Goin On' (Don't Stop Now)" by Da Essence
alongside Ffyonna. More info soon come. Also,
look out for the UK Hip-Hop Awards compilation too which once again
features both of the above mentioned acts. More details to be announced. PS
Look out for an interview with I'ChelMee now added on his artist page. |
Other News:
| "STONE CIRCULATION" (April
2002) |
Stone Circle are currently putting coming towards the
completion of their debut project. Manifest, Nine Lives, Braynz and Mic
Concise have put together something definately worth looking out for. More
news on that soon come.
| "PIQUE
DEPARTS" (March
2002) |
It is with regret that we
announce PiQue's departure from the Social Misfits roster. PiQue requested
this in an effort to resolve personal dilemna's regarding his musical pursuits
and has our full understanding and blessings. He remains committed to being
involved in current plus forthcoming Social Misfit projects and our
affiliation with him remains fully intact. Meanwhile, he
is currently finalising the release of a proposed forthcoming maxi-single he has co-executively
produced. We wish him the very best.
| "THE SOCIAL
DOCUMENTARY" (JANUARY
2002) |
By now we hope that most (if not all) of you will already have the
Social Misfits album in your collection. If not you can now acquire it directly
from us through this site - checkout our shop page. Many of you asked us to add
this feature so we hope you put it to good use... smile
In the meantime the album is getting
widespread love and we are very pleased with all the positive feedback and
reviews we have received. Stockists are currently concentrated in within the M25
region but we are busy working to get it beyond that orbital border.
| "WHATS HIS NAME?" (JANUARY
2002) |
We have also been putting finishing touches
to Shiesty's long-awaited debut album. The good news is that it is now nearly complete
and sounding real tight. Soon as we take care of the post-production and
pre-marketing, you will be hearing it - trust!
The album contains a whole heap of freshly recorded tracks and
some of his favoured earlier tracks have been revisited (reproduced and/or
revocalled). For instance the much-loved "Black Stallions" (as
featured on the Social Misfits album) has been vocally reworked and now includes
contributions from Da-Essence. Those who heard "Lives & Times" on
the cover-mount CD of Hip-hop Connection (HHC) will be pleased to know that this
demo-version got re-vocalled and has a fresh mix-down that retains all the
qualities of the demo but with additional sparkling highlights.
Amongst the
new songs are songs like "Social Misfits Theme" featuring the entire
Misfits in a 4 minute track - hot!!. The album title track, "Self Titled (Whats my Name?)"
set things-off like a scorcher and his and various self-produced
cuts like "You Ain't A
Thug" and "Law External" will set your speakers on fire. Guests
on this future classic include, Stone Circle, Veganiro, Malarchi, Black
Gypsies, Fyza and Mizola of Overseas Edition fame. Its been a long time coming but
"The Self Titled Album" hits the street early 2002. Hold tight.

| "NEW YEAR - NEW SITE"
(January 2002)
Firstly
hope 2002 proves a good year for you all. As you can see we have kicked
into the year with style. Sir Prestige took a minute off the
mixing-board
to take care of this version so if anything does not work blame him....
smile. On
the real, we already know a couple links STILL ain't happening (i.e the sounds and
pictures files) like they should but he is working on a solution so do not forget to
return later and check out our music in the Sounds page - meanwhile you
can check out our music at www.peoplesound.com
- and if
you like what you hear you can buy directly from us at our Shop page...
smile.
Meanwhile, we got a few things
cooking up right now but its too early to talk about these so come back
later and read this space... Lets just say some major discussions are
currently underway and we about to step on a whole new plateau.
